Questions

Straight answers

Everything people ask before they book, and everything barbers ask before they join.

Booking an appointment

Does it cost anything to book?+

No. Booking is free and always will be. You pay your barber or stylist directly for the service, exactly as you would if you'd walked in.

Do I need to make an account?+

No account, no password. Pick a time, enter your name, phone and email, and you're booked. The email is how we send your confirmation and how your stylist can reach you if something changes.

How do I know those times are actually open?+

Because the person cutting your hair set them. Availability comes straight from their own calendar, not a receptionist's guess. When they block off an afternoon it disappears from this site the same second, and once you book a slot nobody else can take it.

How do I pay?+

Directly to your stylist — we never handle the money and take no cut. Their profile and your booking confirmation show how they accept payment, including online options like Venmo, Cash App and Apple Pay with a QR code you can scan, so you can pay before or after your appointment.

What if I need to cancel?+

Use the confirmation code from your booking on the Find my booking tool. Cancelling is instant and free. Please do it as early as you can — the slot goes straight back up for someone else, and your stylist keeps their day full.

What if my stylist cancels on me?+

You get an email the moment it happens, so you're never driving to a shop for an appointment that no longer exists. Nothing is charged, and the email links you straight back to find another time.

I lost my confirmation code+

Check your email — we sent a copy when you booked. If you still can't find it, contact us with the name and phone number you booked under and we'll look it up.

Are the reviews real?+

Yes, and that's enforced rather than promised. The only person who can write a review is someone holding a confirmation code from an appointment that actually happened, after it happened. They can't be bought, generated, or posted by a competitor.

How do I know a pro is good?+

Look at their work. Every pro can post photos of their own best cuts, color and styles right on their profile, and the only reviews are from people who actually sat in their chair. Check both before you book.

Something went wrong with my appointment+

Tell us. Every booking is on record with the time, the service and both sides' contact details, so we can actually look into what happened rather than guess. Contact us with your confirmation code.

Joining as a barber or stylist

What does it cost?+

One flat $19.99/month. No setup fee, no contract, and no commission — ever. Cancel any time.

Do you take a commission?+

No. No commission, no per-booking fee, no cut of tips. What a client pays you is yours. That's deliberate — a per-booking fee would eventually push your prices up to cover ours.

How many clients will I get?+

We’re not going to invent a number. We’re early, and you may be joining before the client side is busy in your area — so your dashboard shows exactly what you’ve booked through us against what you’ve paid. Judge it for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Do I have to upload my license?+

No. We never ask for your license number or a photo of it. Sign up with your name, services and hours, add a few photos of your best work, and you're live.

When am I charged?+

One flat $19.99/month, charged when you sign up. No setup fee and no contract — cancel any time from your dashboard.

Can I cancel?+

Any time, from your dashboard, without calling anyone. Your chair comes off search right away and you are not billed again. Come back whenever you like at the same flat $19.99/month.

Do I keep my own clients?+

They were never ours. You get every client's name, phone and email on every booking. We don't sit between you and them, and we don't charge you to talk to them.

I rent a booth / work at two shops+

That's who this was built for. The listing belongs to you, not the building. You pick the shop your chair is in, and if it isn't listed yet you add it once — then every stylist there can pick it too.

How do clients pay me?+

Directly — the money never passes through us and we take no cut. In your dashboard you add the options you want to offer online: Venmo, Cash App and Apple Pay. Clients see them — with a scannable QR code for Venmo and Cash App — on your profile and on their booking confirmation, and they can pay before or after the appointment. You can still take cash or card at the chair.

What if I need to block off a day?+

Block it from your dashboard and it disappears from search immediately. You control your hours completely — set them once, change them whenever, and add time off for a single afternoon if that's all you need.

What happens when someone books me?+

You get an email straight away with their name, a tappable phone number, the service, the time and anything they told you. The slot is blocked on your calendar automatically so nobody can double-book it.

Can I add my own appointments?+

Yes. Walk-ins and clients who booked you off Salon N Barber go straight onto your calendar — open your Appointments tab and tap + Add appointment. It blocks the slot just like an online booking, so your availability always matches real life.

Can I add photos of my work?+

You need at least three to sign up, and you can add more later. They appear on your profile and in the public gallery with your name and a Book button beside them.

Post only work you did yourself — clients book expecting the person who did it.

My city isn’t listed yet+

Sign up anyway. A city opens when its professionals do — if you’re first in your town, you’ll be the reason it opens.

About Salon N Barber

We don't run a salon.
We run the marketplace.

Salon N Barber has no chairs, no front desk, and no address you drive to. What we have is every barber and stylist in a city, in one place, showing the hours they're actually free. You search, you see what's genuinely open, and you book it. That's the whole idea.

Why we built it

Booking a haircut is still oddly hard.

You text a barber who's mid-fade and won't see it for an hour. You call a shop and get a receptionist guessing at someone else's calendar. You scroll an Instagram page looking for a booking link that hasn't worked since March. Or you drive over and hope.

Meanwhile the person you're trying to book is standing in an empty shop at two in the afternoon, because the client who had that slot cancelled and there was no way to tell anyone the chair opened up. Both sides want the same thing. Neither has a way to find the other in time.

What we built

The chair belongs to the person in it.

Salon N Barber is built around the individual professional, not the building. Booth renters, suite owners, barbers splitting time between two shops, stylists building a book on their own terms.

They set the hours

Availability comes straight from the person holding the clippers. Block off a Thursday afternoon and it disappears from this site the same second.

They set the prices

Own menu, own rates, own service times. Nothing is standardised into a category that doesn't fit what they actually do.

They keep the money

What a client pays for the service goes to the pro. We never take a cut of it, so no price has to rise to cover our fee.

How we keep it honest

Real work. Reviews that can't be bought.

Every pro can post photos of their own best work right on their profile, so you see the fades, color and cuts they actually do before you pick a chair.

Reviews are just as real. The only person who can write one is somebody holding a confirmation code from an appointment that actually happened. A four-star review here means a real person really sat in that chair.

What it costs

Free to book. Flat rate to be booked.

If you're booking

Freealways

No account, no fees, no membership. Enter a name and a number and you're booked.

If you're behind the chair

$19.99per month, flat

No commission. No per-booking fee. You keep 100% of what you charge — cancel any time.

Where we're going

Your city first. City by city after that.

A market opens when its professionals do. If you cut hair somewhere we haven't reached yet, tell us — that's how your city gets on the list.
